Our growing retail cabinet company needs a knowledgeable and experienced cabinet installer / finish carpenter / technician to do job site measures, service work and small-scale cabinet installations.
Site Measures: This involves driving to job sites, both new construction and remodels, and taking precise measurements and photographs which are used by our designers to plan, layout and design kitchens and bathrooms.
For this aspect of the job, you must be able to provide absolute accuracy in measurements and have an understanding of any relevant unique factors on a job site that a designer would need to be aware of when designing for that space.
Our territory includes all of Northwest Michigan from Manistee to Gaylord to Mackinaw City, so this does involve a lot of driving.
Service Work: Examples of service work include installing cabinet hardware, adjusting drawer slides and cabinet door hinges, installing fillers or trim, and repairing paint chips.
Small-Scale Cabinet Installations: Part of the job also includes cabinet installations for small kitchens, bathrooms or laundry rooms.
Cabinet installations are only assigned as time permits, as Site Measures and Service Work are the priorities.
The ideal applicant:
• Has experience in all three areas of the job: site measures, service work, cabinet installation.
• Is extremely conscientious – we never want to have to go back to a job site because a necessary measurement or photo was not taken the first time.
• Is comfortable with technology (for example, annotating photos on an iPad, electronic record-keeping, etc.
).
• Is professional in appearance and demeanor.
• Has experience in cabinet installation and knows what to look for when measuring a job site.
• Lives in a central location in our sales territory, ideally along the Kalkaska, Mancelona, Boyne Falls corridor.
• Has a good driving record and is able to drive several hours per day if necessary.
