The City of Mt.
Pleasant is seeking applications from dependable, community-minded individuals to join our Utility Billing team.
*General Summary*
This position is responsible for the accurate and timely reading of water meters to facilitate customer billing.
Communication skills are required to report abnormal readings or meter malfunctions in a timely manner to billing staff.
The position requires extensive walking in all weather conditions.
Must have the ability to maintain a positive City image.
*Starting wage is $15.

*Hours per Week*
This is a part-time position.
While scheduling can be flexible, you must be available to read and record utility meters for approximately 8-12 hours per week during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday.
*Minimum Requirements*
Familiar with technology and ability to read computer screens and enter data.
Good time management skills necessary to efficiently complete daily route assignments.
Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
*Preferred Background*
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have completed high school or equivalent.
*Physical Demands and Work Environment*
Must be able to walk in all types of weather for up to eight (8) hours per day.
Must be able to bend, twist, squat and stoop many times each day to read meters; negotiate rough terrain; and periodically climb stairs and be comfortable encountering dogs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, hear and talk.
The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must possess the physical abilities to transport self to reading location.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
