We are currently searching for Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team.
Heavy Equipment Operators will perform tasks essential for the completion of site development and underground utility projects.
This includes the skilled work of operating a range of construction machines such as loaders, dozers, excavators, graders and more in order to dig, load, grade and shape a range of materials to the final plan design.
This position is a full-time, seasonal position typically working Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday work and overtime available.
Job sites are primarily located in the Northern Michigan area and overnight travel is not required.

Essential Duties Work as part of the team to complete projects with a priority on safety then quality then productivity Read and understand grade stakes and be able to grade to them Understand proper operating techniques and use machines appropriately Check and maintain equipment fluid levels and perform routine machine care including greasing Operate machines is a safe and controlled manner Be mindful and aware of surrounding conditions Able to think ahead and see next steps Know and follow appropriate OSHA rules regarding machine operation Other duties as required and directed by the site foreman Qualifications and Requirements Experience in the operation of heavy construction equipment is preferred Display a respectful and positive attitude Effectively work in a variety of outside weather conditions Able to assist and help with manual labor tasks at times and when appropriate Able to perform and understand basic math required for construction Valid driver’s license required Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen Manthei Construction is proud to offer a suite of benefits to help support our team member's financial, physical, and mental health.
