Maintenance Technician - Nights
The Maintenance Technician's primary responsibility is to execute change-over of production tooling and establish production processes for the equipment.
Traditional Industrial Maintenance duties such as performing preventative maintenance tasks, executing unplanned maintenance repairs, and performing project work are completed after the production requirements for change over are met.
Must be able to work a 12 hr shifts on a 2-2-3 continental shift pattern.
Essential Functions:
Execute all job assignments in compliance with all Company Safety Policies and Procedures
Complete change-over of production tooling
Complete initial production process set-up (following Master Process) to deliver a production line that is producing quality product at established cycle rate
Execute unplanned equipment repairs as necessary during the change-over process or as otherwise assigned by Supervisor
Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
Based on skill set, execute project work as assigned by Supervisor.
Projects may include:
Fabrication, Basic carpentry, Plumbing / Pipe Installation (pneumatic, water, hydraulic, etc)
Electrical Installation
Lifting & Rigging / Machinery movement and installation
Based on repairs or preventative maintenance tasks performed, provide feedback on correction actions and/or preventative measures to reduce equipment downtime or improve mean time between failure
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent work experience in an Industrial Manufacturing setting
Familiar with Thin Sheet Extrusion, Thermoforming, and Trim processes and equipment
Electrical troubleshooting or awareness of industrial electrical safety work rules if not a Qualified individual
Experience with Pneumatic system function and troubleshooting of equipment.
Experience with Hydraulic system function and troubleshooting of equipment.
Ability to be a member of the team and support peers as necessary to share the assigned tasks.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
3-5 yrs prior industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environment (preferred but not required)
Familiar with Sheet Extrusion, Thermoforming and Trimming processes.
Trade / technical school completion or ability to complete curriculum if requested.
Journeyman card in applicable specialty trade is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking on concrete.
Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands/fingers, bend, kneel reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl and talk or hear.
Must be able to lift to up to 50 pounds at a time.
