SUMMARY: Provides system support for manufacturing and quality processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES: Include the following.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
* Complies with ISO/IATF-16949, and Customer Specific requirements.
* Supports plant quality systems, material dispositions, and quality training activities.
* Responsible for driving improvement with the supply base.
* Review and audit supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.
* Perform supplier assessments including being auditor trained.
* Maintain supplier ratings and scorecards.
* Organize and facilitate Management Quality Reviews with suppliers performing below expectations.
* Determine root cause of supplier quality problems and coordinate/implement effective and timely resolutions * Assure supplier understanding of product and PPAP submission requirements * Review and approve supplier PPAP’s on new part programs * Communicate urgent issues to Quality Leadership * Mitigate the risk of new and/or under-performing suppliers through supplier performance monitoring (KPI for Quality, including PPM and SCAR) * Visit the supplier on an as needed basis.
* Communicate between suppliers and the plant, maintain positive communication.
* Interface with suppliers as the single point contact for issue resolution.
* Understands Plant/Customer KPI’s and works with team to meet and exceed.
* Participates as Layered Process Auditor if instructed by Manager.
* Supports continuous improvement activities for all Production Quality Deliverables.
* Prepare PPAP package for product submissions and approval by appropriate Customer personnel.
* Develop appropriate inspection plans and containment plans.
* Assist in writing and submitting 8-Ds to the customer in a timely manner as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: * High School graduate or GED equivalent (college degree preferred), with good mathematical comprehension * Understanding of IATF / ISO Quality System standards, training, and certification desired.
* Knowledge of AIAG standards, including APQP and PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, Flow Charts, R@R, SPC, MSA, Capacity Analysis, GR&R.
* Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities, and equipment * Demonstrated experience in problem-solving techniques, e.
g.
5 Why, 8D, Ishikawa diagrams.
* Experience conducting supplier audits * Ability to support Design reviews with good understanding of GD&T and Key Characteristics (Safety / Critical Characteristics) * Ability to work with and develop quality performance metrics (i.
e.
FTQ, scrap rate, PPM, OTD, Efficiency) * Strong analytic problem-solving skills.
COMMUNICATION and LANGUAGE SKILLS: - Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, foremen, process/tool engineers, lead operators, and coworkers, as required, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively present ideas/suggestions for improvement of quality processing or safety considerations in one-on-one and small group situations within the organization.
- Ability to operate, input, and print standard reports from the computer system.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to effectively listen and convert customer and production explanations into effective responsive action.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized and diagnostic testing situations.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and organize work tasks.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.
