The Director of Assessment & Accreditation leads and directs all assessment and assurance of learning efforts to support accreditation in the College of Business Administration (CBA) and serves as the lead in organizing information and preparing reports for the Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and regional accreditation efforts through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
Required Qualifications A master’s degree or higher.
Experience in data analysis and visualization.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education in administrative work and/or teaching.
Experience conducting item analysis and reliability analyses.
Previous work experience with accreditation organizations.
Prior experience with assurance of learning and assessment.
Awareness of challenges in higher education today.
Duties & Responsibilities Develops, implements, and improves CBA Assessment and Assurance of Learning (AoL) plans for all accredited programs, both online and on-campus, including BSBA, BAA, Accounting, MBA, MSIS, and MEV degrees.
Coordinates efforts to ensure all required reports are written and submitted for AACSB and HLC accreditation, writing sections as needed.
Hosts major AoL events; including but not limited to presenting CMU’s annual Assessment Conference, implementing the CBA Assessment Day, and working with the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support (CIS) on the Annual CBA Teaching Symposium.
Attends the CBA Dean’s Advisory Committee (DAC) meetings as needed to provide updates.
Collaborates with the dean’s office and college leadership to facilitate CBA faculty enrichment activities (pedagogical and scholarly).
Assists degree programs within the CBA with alignment of accreditation standards and assessment activities.
Reviews annual assessment reports and communicates recommendations to degree programs, the University Assessment Council, the Director of Curriculum and Assessment, the Senior Vice Provost, and the CBA Dean’s office.
Maintains the faculty qualification list for AACSB accreditation and creates tables for reports.
Assists faculty with assessment plan development for their majors and minors including the mission, goals, student learning outcomes, measures, targets and curriculum maps.
Reviews and pre-approves assessment plans prior to referring plans to the Director of Curriculum and Assessment for placement on the Assessment Council meeting agenda.
Analyzes assessment plans to determine potential challenges that may hinder the data collection process.
Advises faculty and assists with the collection and analysis of assessment-related data for every major, minor, degree program, certificate, and non-degree certificate program in the CBA.
Assists faculty/staff with inputting, organizing, and reporting assessment data in the university’s Assessment Management System as well as troubleshooting login information and other issues as needed.
Delivers training of CMU’s Assessment Management Systems to faculty and staff.
Helps programs design efficient assessment processes and develop appropriate measures and rubrics.
Communicates timelines, approval processes, and assessment-related information to faculty/staff working on assessment-related activities.
Attends biweekly University Assessment Council meetings, along with department and college meetings to communicate and assist with assessment-related information.
Chairs the BSBA AoL committee and maintains the agenda.
Reports challenges with meeting timelines and project objectives related to assessment and annual program improvements to the Associate Dean.
Monitors closing-the-loop activities by communicating with department chairs and program directors and surveying faculty.
Directs work of CBA learning communities—speaking, writing, technology, and problem solving.
Assists with designing and revising direct and indirect measures as needed.
Analyzes tests for reliability and conducts item analysis reports to continuously improve measures.
Provides training at faculty meetings as needed.
Represents CMU at AACSB Assessment conferences.
Creates monthly AoL newsletters for faculty/staff and graphic design displays for students.
Maintains AoL and accreditation updates on the CBA website.
