As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you'll play a vital role in developing our drink menus and training our food and beverage staff to ensure they deliver exceptional service.
You'll also assist with creating incentives to motivate our team and participate in educational seminars to stay abreast of industry trends.
Your strong organizational skills, interpersonal finesse, and extensive knowledge of POS systems will contribute to our continued success.
THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION LOCATED IN PETOSKEY, MICHIGAN.
POSITION START DATE EXPECTED MAY 2024 THROUGH OCTOBER 2024.
POSITION IS FULL TIME.

Job Duties: Plays integral role in the development of drink menus in all venues.
Responsible for training and developing food and beverage staffs, including captains.
Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and for experienced staff are planned and implemented.
Helps plan and approve the organizational chart, staffing and job description/ specifications for all department staff.
Responsible for extensive bar training for creating and maintaining consistency with beverage recipes.
Supervises constantly with on-the-job training to achieve maximum efficiency and member satisfaction.
Enhance member service by interacting daily with members and employees.
Work with Human Resources for recruiting seasonal staff and seasonal food and beverage interns through job and career fairs.
Create weekly staff schedules for food and beverage team in all dining outlets.
Extensive knowledge of POS system to update and change as needed.
Consistently holds staff pre-shift meetings to inform of club’s current events as well as updating on daily food and beverage specials in dining rooms and events.
Attends weekly staff meeting.
Able to resolve member and guests’ concerns in a timely fashion.
Assist co-managers with creating incentives to motivate staff.
Attend education seminars as available.
Ensures staff is clean and neat in appearance and in proper uniform.
Assist in the purchase of front of house items including uniforms, name tags, bar items, etc.
Assist with ongoing physical inventories of glassware, china, service ware etc.
Assist with bar inventories in all 3 of club’s restaurants.
Assures that state and local laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are followed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience: 1-2 years experience in Food and Beverage field or related areas required High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree in related field preferred Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits and bar operations.
1-2 years supervisory/management experience in related field required Food safety certification.
Alcoholic beverage certification.
Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations Job Competencies: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills to prioritize work activities within operations required Strong interpersonal skills required Possess extensive knowledge of POS systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Working Conditions: Work will generally be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Temperatures can range from 100+ F to 32 F, and there may be exposure to loud noises and sustained elements.
Working schedule is generally 40 hours per week, with some holidays, weekends and travel required.
Must have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
