Property Description
Located in Edmore, MI, directly along the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, our 50-room independent motel is beautifully upkept and waiting for the right GM to take it and run.
Our property was built in 2001 and has always been operated by the Maxfield Family.
We understand the importance of flexibility, family, and time away and offer paid time off starting immediately upon hire.
We are seeking a General Manager that meshes with our family atmosphere, desire to succeed, attention to detail, and ability to manage the entire operation.
Salary
Dependent on Experience/Education
$45,000-$75,000
Schedule
Full time, hours dependent on season/occupancy

Education
Bachelors – Preferred
Valid work experience may waive educational requirements.
Experience
Hospitality (2 years preferred)
Hotel Management (2 years preferred)
*Essential job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:*

Responsible for the operation of the hotel.
2.
Supervises and controls all activities and staff in accordance with established company standards, policies, and procedures.
3.
Plan, organizes, directs, and coordinates team members and resources of the hotel in the best interest of the company to provide efficient, well-prepared, and profitable service to all guests while maintaining a positive reputation of the business.

The smooth and effective operation of a hotel requires the enthusiasm and diligence of the hotel general manager, as he or she is expected to perform various important functions for the hotel to meet up to good standards.
5.
The hotel general manager is responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and organizing all the activities involved in the smooth and effective running of a hotel.
6.
One of the major functions of the hotel general manager is to recruit staff in various areas of concentration of the hotel (such as hotel front desk clerks, housekeepers).
He/she is responsible for the supervision to ensure effective management of the hotel, as well as to meet the standard needs of the hotel and that of the customers/people lodging in it.

In the process of discharging his or her duties, the hotel general manager is also responsible for managing budgets by prioritizing the spending of money to help the hotel attain its goal, as well as maintaining statistical and financial records.

Furthermore, while there are staff occupying various positions that are needed for the effective running of the hotel, the general manager also oversees various functions like planning events and room bookings; handling customer complaints and queries and promoting and marketing the business.

Ensures that all team members adhere to all company policies and procedures uniformly and without exception, such as uniform standards, attendance and reconciling financial transactions.

Helps in any area of the operation as circumstances dictate.
11.
Organizes and supervises shifts, establishes plans based on reservations and expected walk-in business.
12.
Provide assistance to all team members in the execution of their work duties as needed.
13.
Responds to and resolves customer concerns and complaints.
Corrects potential problems before they affect guests.
14.
Maintains highest standards and consistency of quality control, hygiene, legality, health, and safety.
15.
Monitors and maintains strict and consistent adherence to company cash drawer policies.
16.
Implements posted work schedules, while adjusting as necessary to cover team member call-ins or shortages and adjusts the amount of staff on hand as business dictates (labor cost control).
17.
Reconciles all Booking.
com and Expedia.
com invoices when they are ready.
18.
Order supplies as needed for the hotel.
19.
Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
20.
Set up group blocks for weddings or small groups as needed.
21.
Process cash security deposit refunds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.
00 - $75,000.
