Mortgage Underwriter

Position Title: Mortgage Underwriter Reports To: Underwriting Supervisor General Purpose: Quality Control of Mortgage Processing.
Responsibilities: Reviews mortgage loan applications in process with supporting documentation to determine if they meet the required guidelines for approval on both internal and secondary market requests.
Reviews appraisals to insure quality of collateral.
Assist in training processing staff as needed on products and procedures.
Take on additional duties and extended work hours as necessary.
Qualifications: Education/Experience High school diploma required Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mortgages required Knowledgeable with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the mortgage field including the Secondary Market is preferred Skills Excellent computer skills – especially Encompass (LOS), Silverlake and Synergy Strong verbal and written communication skills Consistent display of diplomacy in all communications Detail oriented Proactive and self-motivated Creative and innovative approach on problem solving issues Flexibility in meeting departmental goals Ability to work both as a team player and independently Ability to meet deadlines on a weekly basis Isabella Bank is an AA/EEO employer.
