As a Child Therapist at Pleasant Psychology, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support and intervention to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and their family.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the psychological, emotional, and developmental needs of children and adolescents.
- Utilize standardized assessment tools, clinical interviews, and observations to formulate accurate diagnoses.

Individual and Family Therapy:
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents using various modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, art therapy, and family systems therapy.
- Collaborate with families to develop treatment goals and strategies for addressing behavioral and emotional challenges.
3.
Collaboration and Consultation:
- Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and school counselors, to coordinate care and provide holistic support to clients.
- Consult with teachers, school administrators, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate the integration of therapeutic strategies in educational and community settings.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Prepare detailed reports and evaluations for internal review, external agencies, and third-party payers as required.

Professional Development:
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and emerging trends in child psychology and therapy through continuing education, workshops, and professional conferences.
- Pursue opportunities for professional growth and licensure/certification renewal to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and ethical guidelines.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid license to practice as a therapist or counselor
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience providing therapy to children and adolescents in a clinical or school setting.
- Experience conducting psychological assessments and diagnosing mental health disorders in pediatric populations.
- Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of child development, psychopathology, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for youth.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles, cultural competence, and diversity-sensitive practice.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic alliances with children and families.
- Proficiency in conducting individual and group therapy sessions, as well as crisis intervention when necessary.
- Competence in using electronic health record systems and other technology for documentation and teletherapy services.
