GENERAL SUMMARY
Serves as an Advance Practice Provider (APP) in cardiac electrophysiology care, working as a practitioner, educator, consultant, coordinator, program planner and program implementer.
Opportunity for both outpatient and inpatient work along with supervised procedures.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
As a health care practitioner, the EP APP works in conjunction with THV cardiac electrophysiologists, device clinic nurses, THV cardiologists, allied health practitioners (AHPs), and nurses to provide appropriate professional services to patients with cardiac arrhythmia related issues.
In the context of this position the EP APP will:
Join a strong interdisciplinary team to provide individualized, exceptional care to patients.
Assess patient needs: obtain comprehensive health, social, environmental and development assessment data; review patient records for past and present health issues; identify patient health hazards and risks, conduct comprehensive and/or episodic health assessment including evaluation of chief complaint, physical examination and diagnostic testing.
Collaborate with the electrophysiologists, other health care team members and the patient/family to develop an individualized treatment plan of care for the patient.
Implement the treatment plan of care, performing therapeutic action as indicated within written protocols; collaborate with physicians regarding the prescribed treatment plan of care when necessary and provides family/.
patient education.
Maintain a provider number and follows process and procedures to assure complete and accurate patient charges.
Assist in policy and procedure development for operations and clinical interventions related to the care and management of patients with cardiac arrhythmia related problems.
Provides formal and informal education to other health care practitioners regarding cardiac arrhythmia related problems.
Outpatient ambulatory care with some travel required to satellite clinics
Significant inpatient consultative role
Perform cardiac electrophysiology procedures such as cardioversions and implantable loop recorders under direct physician supervision
Full-time Monday through Friday, no call or weekends
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Training:
Master's Degree in Nursing OR a Masters in Physician Assistant studies
Work Experience:
Cardiology and/or Cardiac Electrophysiology experience is preferred but not required
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license required
