We are a family looking to provide quality care for our disabled family member in Lake, MI.
Our goal is to partner with direct care workers in this endeavor.

Other Information:
* One small dog lives in the home, but you will not be required to do any care for him.
* Two male family members rent out another part of the home, but are not directly involved with any personal care.
They do help with running errands, and home maintenance.
* Her elderly mother stays in the home part of the time, but you are not responsible for her care.
Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to care for our family member.
As a Direct Care Worker, you will be asked to provide essential support, and some basic medical care.
You will be trained on how to assist with this care.
Duties:
- Provide personal care and assistance to one individual, including hair care, lymphadema care on her legs, and foot care.
She can bathe herself, she just needs someone to put her necessary products within reach, and be close in case she has an urgent need.
- Check Pressure Areas-remind client not to sit too long in one position/change positions frequently to avoid pressure sores.
Verbal prompts every 2 hours.
- Medication Reminders- Give verbal reminder and then watch her take meds and insulin.
She will often prioritize other tasks above her own care, and does not always remember to take her meds in a timely manner.
- Meal Prep-Prepare breakfast daily.
Prep main meal.
Client has meals on wheels for 3rd meal.
- Grocery Shopping-plan with client / compile an ongoing grocery list/help client complete online order/facilitate plan for pickup.
- Engage in activities with client, and help her with any projects that she asks for assistance with.
- Light housekeeping is required.
Maintain a clean and safe environment as individual is wheel chair bound and will have difficulty moving around any objects in her way.
- Evaluate and update family on clients well being, as well as any concerns that you may have.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in senior care, disabled person care, or homecare.
- Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
- You will NOT be asked to help with transfers or lifting client.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication skills, as you will need to express to our family any additional needs that you may notice are not being taken care of.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
