Mother of Pearl pitcher and basin bowl - $30 (alma)

I have this beautiful Mother of Pearl pitcher and bowl that I know nothing about other then it has the initial's D I G on the bottom of both pieces.
The pitcher has a seam on the bottom so I don't know how old it is, and I have not been able to find one like it anywhere on line.
The bowl is 16" wide and the pitcher is 12" tall.
Both pieces have minor to small marks on them from wear.
