Suttons Bay School is hiring an aide to work alongside our elementary special education teacher to support a student throughout the school day.
Candidates must be student-centered problem solvers with a strong desire to create a positive and joyful learning environment where all students can succeed.
Candidates must have experience in establishing meaningful relationships and developing a positive rapport with their students, parents, and other staff members.
Our ideal candidates are also fiercely resilient, creative, and innovative finding ways to motivate students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the special education teacher in the execution of students individualized learning plans
Support non-academic needs to remove barriers that may interfere with academic success
Monitor students during non-academic activities such as specials, recess, lunch, etc.
Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings as needed
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents.
Abide by and maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal requirements

The ability to prioritize student learning needs over obstacles and barriers that can stand in the way of learning and student growth
The strong desire to see all students achieve outstanding results
The strong desire and ability to build meaningful, caring relationships with students
The skills and willingness to learn and use student support systems to ensure that the social, emotional, nutritional, and health needs of all students are addressed
The capacity to respond to the individual academic and non-academic needs of students
The willingness to seek out knowledgeable peers, coaches, and administrators for support and ongoing learning
