The Coordinator of Learning Systems Support (LSS) Course Content Migration supports the migration of master online course shell content from Blackboard Original Course View (OCV) to Blackboard Ultra Course View (UCV).
This position works collaboratively with the CIS team and subject-matter experts to finalize the setup of high-quality, learner-centered courses, designed in alignment with best practices and Learning Management System (LMS) related technologies, in UCV.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.
Two years of related work experience, preferably in a higher education environment.
Demonstrated application and knowledge of Blackboard or other directly comparable Learning Management System(s).
Demonstrated knowledge of effective course design principles within the LMS.
Demonstrated ability to be technically astute with the ability to research and resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, time management, problem-resolution, and critical thinking skills.
Evidence of the ability to learn quickly, meet established deadlines, possess a high attention to detail.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree, preferably in educational/instructional technology, instructional design, or higher education administration.
Experience with embedding digital content or other multimedia artifacts and integrating publisher/vendor tools into a digital learning experience.
Knowledge/familiarity with academic and student learning processes and conducting faculty professional development.
Knowledge and experience with building content, using LMS tools to achieve course outcomes and meet identified standards, and use of the LMS system as part of the overall instructional strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities Coordinates the migration of master online course shell content from Blackboard Original Course View (OCV) to Blackboard Ultra Course View (UCV).
Utilizes knowledge of the learning system’s features, functions, and tools, along with instructional design expertise, to finalize the creation of online courses centered high-quality instruction and a meaningful digital learning experience.
Works independently and provides agile project management and timely communication to the Associate Director of Learning Systems Support.
Imports and configures publisher-related resources into the LMS course shells as needed.
Incorporates current design standards, terminology, and technologies in use at CMU, with instructional design principles and awareness of accessibility requirements.
Maintains accurate records of actions taken during the migration process and provides a report of changes made to the appropriate personnel for review.
Performs other duties as assigned.
