Position Overview
Join us in the summer of 2024 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen.
We are seeking passionate and nature-loving Environmental Sciences Instructor who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists.
As an Environmental Sciences Instructor, you’ll play a major role in supporting our sustainability, agriculture, and nature related educational programming at Interlochen.

Teach nature-related classes
Work with our agricultural gardens in the RB Annis Botanical Lab and Community Garden
Engage with students in a hands-on science environment
Explore the natural world through many of Interlochen’s nature trails
Create exciting and engaging activities that support a nature-inspired curriculum

We offer a range of programs spanning music, visual arts, theatre, dance, creative writing, film & new media, and interdisciplinary arts, providing a platform for every artist to thrive.
Experience and Skills:
What You Need
Availability 6/22/24 - 8/5/24
Prepared to live in a dorm or nature cabin setting
Candidates must possess at least a BS degree or its equivalent
Experience teaching middle or high school age children is preferred
Strong interest in environmental science/experiential education is important
Interest in building a program around the natural resources available on the Interlochen campus/surrounding
Enthusiasm, flexibility and effective communication skills are a must
