Job Description
Position Title: Head Tennis Professional
Reports to: Tennis Director/ Senior Director of Programming
Department: Tennis
Classification: part-time or full-time, non-exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position requires a dynamic and energetic leader that is responsible for the program planning and execution, quality control, member involvement, personal administration, risk management, and all other assigned tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Regularly required to stand; walk, and perform athletic movements
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds
Flexible hours
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Qualifications
2 years tennis instruction experience preferred
USPTA or PTR certified preferred
Must have strong communication skills and the ability to relate well to the public
Must possess a strong understanding of the YMCA mission and have a strong desire to deliver quality service to the community
Must have exceptional organizational skills
Ideal candidate will be outgoing, compassionate, and considered a "people person" with outstanding customer service skills
Must have the ability to communicate the YMCAs tennis vision to the market and to recruit and retain program participants
Current certification in CPR and AED; complete trainings in Child Abuse Prevention and Blood Borne Pathogens
Essential Functions
Instructs YMCA tennis classes using the YMCA policies and guidelines
National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) skill level of 4.
5 minimum or above (preferred)
Lead and Assist in Adult and Jr.
Programming
Maintain accurate records
Assist with the completion of student progress reports and program evaluation forms
Work special events as assigned
Assist with YMCA tournaments including tournaments run by the YMCA although not necessarily held at the YMCA
Promote tennis program offerings
Maintain tennis courts and surrounding areas, including care of equipment
Responds to all member and community inquiries in a timely manner
