Star Cutter is currently seeking a_*Software and Controls Engineer*_ to deliver the best in class customer service.
Our Field Service Engineers are trained on the construction of Star Brand of CNC tools and cutter grinder, ensuring customer satisfaction.

*Responsibilities:* · PLC programing using NUM, Mitsubishi, and Fanuc controls systems.
· Develop operator HMI screens for customer specific requirements.
· Design, develop, and maintain software applications and control systems for our machinery and equipment, using C#, Java, Python, Mitsubishi Controller, NUM and Fanuc CNC systems.
· Implement algorithms and models for the calculation of cutting geometries, tool paths, and machining parameters, ensuring seamless integration of NUMROTO software and CNC machines.
· Develop and implement algorithms for real-time control and system optimization, ensuring maximum efficiency and performance of our equipment.
· Design and execute comprehensive test plans for control systems, including simulation and testing, to validate functionality, reliability, and safety standards.
· Coordinate with suppliers and external partners to select and integrate third-party components and software, ensuring compatibility and performance within our systems.
· Collaborate with the tool design team to understand requirements and translate them into efficient software solutions.
· Act as a technical contact for customer support issues related to our control systems and software, ensuring timely and effective resolution of problems.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive support documentation, including troubleshooting guides, and instructional materials, to assist customers in resolving common issues.
· Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
*Team Responsibilities: * •Collaborate with other engineers, sales, and customers, to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
•Work together with the controls group to understand and implement best practice ideas across the Star product lines.
•The ideal candidate will be motivated to accomplish projects with the ability to develop detailed specifications and implement standard engineering practices.
Final output is required to be a reliable product that is complete with a detailed documentation package upon project completion.
*Qualifications and Requirements: * · BS in Engineering with at least a minimum of 5 years of technical experience in the design and manufacturing.
· Product experience in a manufacturing company a plus.
· Established experience in controls/software engineering, development and design.
Utilizing C#, Java, and Python.
· Controls experience (Fanuc, Siemens, NUM, Mitsubishi etc.
).
· Proven ability to work in a cross-functional teams.
· Ability to operate efficiently, evaluate risk and make appropriate decisions.
· High energy self-starter who is enthusiastic and motivated to create growth opportunities.
· Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills to interface with external sales teams and customers.
