The Staff Accountant leads all day-to-day accounting operations, with functional responsibility for accounting, payroll, and grants administration.
Responsibilities also include production of financial reports; proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions; and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), along with adhering to grants management standards.
The Staff Accountant will be expected to gain an understanding of specific terms and processes that are unique to Federally Qualified Health Centers.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Administration, or related field is preferred;
Minimum of 1-2 years of related accounting experience is required;
Solid experience in coordinating audit activities and manage reporting, budget development, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll;
Preferred knowledge of principles and practice of not-for-profit health care organizations;
Preferred knowledge of the structure and operations of federally qualified health centers;
Experience and understanding of computerized accounting systems, budgets, and financial data operation, third party billing, contracting, collections, and cost reporting (Medicaid and Medicare);
Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and ADP payroll systems;
Ability to work under pressure and complete assignments within stated timeframe.
