SUMMARY
The associate will use all skills to work successfully in a team environment by displaying common sense, maintaining a high level of customer service, work accuracy and timeliness, reporting to work area on time, ready to work and dressed in appropriate attire while performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procedures & Operations:
Follow Operational Guidelines for Corporate Office
Maintain acceptable levels of attendance as outlined in handbook.
Relay all communication and information that will entail the smooth operation of office and store to other associates and management members.
Maintain a high level of housekeeping at all times.
Follow work schedule and address any necessary changes or concerns with supervisor.
Facilitate the smooth running of the office by adjusting to unforeseen schedule changes and/or working overtime.
Be knowledgeable of store safety procedures, and observe safety policies at all times.
Notify supervisor when unable to finish work in a timely manner.
Demonstrate a willingness to help others.
Maintain a calm and patient demeanor when under pressure.
Stay on task during times when punched in.
Display effective prioritizing of work.
Be as completely accurate as possible.
Be knowledgeable in record keeping timelines, rules, and laws.
Daily: Answer incoming and internal phone calls and direct callers to desired area/person, demonstrating good telephone habits and manners.
Monitor pages and communicate with others if someone is unavailable.
Take telephone messages and relay those messages to appropriate associate(s) when they return to the store.
Assist with phone Calls, which you are knowledgeable on, to help a busy floor.
Page clearly and loudly over the paging system.
Handle customer complaints, which relate to office concerns, promptly and politely.
Create a daily bank deposit by: Counting register drawers, removing excess money Deliver registers three and four to the floor and make sure that they are logged on and in POS Verifying cash-on-hand amount in change drawer and brown bags.
Creating adding machine tapes verifying cash and check amounts for each register Filling in actual cash and check amounts on Daily Sales Reports.
Find reasons for any cash or check discrepancies.
Verify both Acme and Chums daily deposits.
Transferring totals to daily register reports for each store to the Daily Cash Summary/Total page.
Buy any 1s, 5s, and 10s before creating the change order.
Have change order faxed over when necessary.
Note: Both change order and deposit need to be to the bank by 12:30 on Saturdays.
Complete the daily paperwork audit for all three stores by: Verifying bankcard totals by store and resolving any discrepancies Verifying all non-taxable sales (except food) on Daily Sales Reports Verifying all regular, voids, and defective returns/refunds Create adding machine tapes, by drawer, of the information entered for actual return amounts in cash, check, bankcard, and charge account and make any necessary reprints to book.
Verifying all coupon totals and enter amounts into the Coupon sheets Verifying all carpet cleaner rentals Verifying all Labor related skus and reprint any missing receipts to book.
Verifying all U-Haul and DNR receipt totals for Chums Auditing all charge ROAs before releasing RDJ to accounts receivable.
Creating an envelope of for all returns which also includes tapes for backup bank totals Enter Net Sales and total refunded amounts, by store, into the Net Sales page.
Enter all General Ledger totals into the computer.
Make copies of errors for cashiers and management.
File all work away appropriately.
Sort and deliver daily mail properly.
Handle check, bankcard, and charge account issues for cashiers.
Assist with other 88 calls around the store.
Perform register pickups.
Fill change orders for registers.
Clean off top of desk before leaving at end of day.
Weekly: Clean work area by wiping down desk, phone, and computer keyboards with cleaner.
Print weekly Hourly Sales Reports by store.
Vacuum office and clean bathroom on week scheduled to work Saturday.
Monthly: Help with the running and collating of the monthly AR statements.
Complete coupon sheet and deliver to Shawn.
Verify monthly labor, rental and paid-outs, making sure all necessary paperwork is included and matches with GL.
Pull and book all daily sales reports out of binders, departmental pass-offs, and special order slips and place them in their organized spot in Shawns office.
Balance all associated GL accounts including but not limited to, 1105, 7010, all 3000 accounts, 1131, 5999, and any accounts associated with paid in or out.
Make sure that all Net Sales entries are correct, balancing them to Business Advisor and notating any discrepancies.
As Needed: Handle training and development of new associates as assigned by training supervisor.
Write letters to customers or suppliers regarding purchases, sales, etc.
Participate in monthly store meetings when requested.
Run cash register.
Work overtime as needed.
Issue rain checks for out of stock sale merchandise.
Respond to 88 calls made by other associates to facilitate the smooth running of the store.
Participate in cashier meetings.
Transfer bank deposit to banking institution.
Order candy and popcorn supplies.
Order office supplies.
Process payments on account.
