) FLSA: Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Continuing Part-Time/Full-Time: Full-Time Union Group: N/A Term of Position: 12 Month At Will/Just Cause: Just Cause Summary of Position: Independently perform accounting-related activities related to the General Ledger and the University & Foundation Financial Statements.
Analyze and maintain records related to Grant Accounting, Fixed Assets and property accounting within the Finance Office.
Analyze, audit, reconcile accounts and assist with internal/external audit as assigned.
Duties may vary depending on the specific area to which the employee is assigned.
Duties may not be applicable to every employee in this classification.
Position Type: Staff Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, Business or related field.

Equivalency for education is two years of related work experience equals one year of education.
Required Work Experience: 1-3 years of complex accounting experience, balance sheet reconciliations, or financial statement preparation.
Required Licenses and Certifications: Physical Demands: Office Environment Moving Sitting Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: MBA Donor investments A working knowledge of higher education or governmental accounting Work experience in balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement preparation and financial spreadsheets.
Banner, Higher Education, and FIMS experience.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Review and control data in the General Ledger / Financial Statements.
This includes daily, monthly and annual data-control functions, review receipts for accuracy, complete departmental journal entries.
Complete monthly bank statement reconciliations and analysis.
Analyze and prepare reconciliations and financial statements for all fund groups as assigned.
Recommend and implement technology solutions for daily accounting functions.
Assist with /complete year-end close and start-up of new fiscal year, budget development, etc.
Prepare state and federal tax returns as assigned.
Assign new account numbers.
Update and approve user access.
Maintain integrity of financial computer system(s) to insure that financial transactions are properly tracked and recorded.
Perform analysis of internal accounts, assist departments regarding financial transactions, complete annual financial statements, maintain retention records, etc.
Support and serve as backup to other accounting functions.
Cross train within the Finance Office and be able to complete other assigned accounting functions.
Assist with the development of training materials and conduct training sessions related to the university accounting system.
Create and manage endowments.
Endowment reconciliations with FIMS to banner Perform all duties in compliance with applicable University policies and procedures and state and federal requirements.
Reports directly to designated supervisor.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information.
